My Gt Gt Grandfather was David Waters born, I believe, in Bures Hamlet in 1825.His parents William and Elizabeth Waters came from Hartest. His siblings married into the Shynn, Mortlock, Sparks, Everett and Bond families. Davids children married into Salmon, Reeve, Webber and Keeble families. If any local genealogists have any information on this branch of the Waters family, please get in touch.
Many thanks
Deb Waters

Re: The Waters family of Bures Hamlet/ Bures St Mary
I have had a contact through my research into the Webber family from someone in the States who is connected to the Waters family through marriage. My mother was a Webber going back to William Webber born abt 1801 and died 1840, he married Jemima Pettitt born abt 1806 both lived in Mt. Bures and were married in Bures St. Mary in December 1824.

There is a connection between the Pettit family and the Webbers at Bakers Hall Farm
Arthur Pettit was registered farming the land in 1885
Alan Pettit farmed the land from 1885 until 1917
In 1925 Ernest Webber was the registered farmer in 1929
