Smallbridge Retirement Home

I have come across an Electoral Roll for 1945
This lists 27 Ladies names who were resident at the Hall during that time
Using a Google search, I found three of them to be ex Nurses from WW1
Was this used as a Convalescent home or something else ?
Can anyone answer this question ?

I have now discovered that it was possibly a retirement home at least between 1940 and 1945
One viewer kindly supplied me with details of a few residents who stayed there
