War Memorials

Post by admin »

2014 is the Centenary of the Great War.
I have published information on the Bures and Mount Bures web sites recording the names of servicemen who served during this conflict.
There are a considerable number of servicemen listed at Mount Bures, where there are no records whatsoever

One of the major problems is that WW1 Records held at the National Archives are incomplete.
During WW2, bombing in London fire damage destroyed about 60% of personnel records.

If anyone can shed any light on the soldiers, I would be pleased to update the web pages with any new information
Considering the sacrifice these men made 100 years ago, it is important they are not forgotten
